Snacks, snacks, snacks…it is all my preschool boys ask me for all day, every day. I know I am not the only mom who is tired of trying to figure out what snacks to give. Or wanting to find snacks that are filling and healthy so we aren’t constantly going through processed snacks. I wanted to write a blog post on summer snacks for kids to inspire moms with snack crazed kids some different ideas hoping to leave your kids full, happy, and asking for snacks less. Or at least, you can feel better knowing what are in the snacks you are giving your children. Below is a list of healthy and easy summer snacks to make for your kids.

Graham Cracker With Vanilla Yogurt

Easy to make and so, so good especially for Summer. All you have to do is break a full graham cracker sheet in two like you do for smores. And with a knife spread vanilla yogurt on it, put in on a baking sheet with foil underneath and place in the freezer until frozen. Take it out and put it in a freezer safe bag and put it back into the freezer. That’s it, so easy and it’s so delicious.

Smoothie Popsicles

I love freezing left over smoothies that I make for popsicles throughout the week. It’s a great frozen treat during the summer time that is also making sure your kids are getting their fruit and veggies in. Just make a smoothie however you make it and pour in popsicle molds and pop it in the freezer. That’s it!

Smoothie Bites

Similar to the smoothie popsicle above, you can make smoothie bites however you want this version to be as thick as possible. Otherwise, it will run on the baking sheet. SO you could use all the ingredients in a smoothie except for adding liquid. SO think yogurt, fruit, and spinach. Then you put little round drops on a baking sheet covered in foil, put it in the freezer, and put it in a freezer safe bag once it is frozen. My boys love these snacks!

Frozen Fruit With Vanilla Yogurt

Frozen fruit is so good and always a favorite frozen summer treat for my family. Adding vanilla yogurt to it makes it even better. You can add vanilla yogurt to blueberries, grapes, strawberries, mango, bananas, etc!

Frozen Fruit with Chocolate

Another frozen treat my family and I love. All you have to do is have a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and add a tablespoon or two of coconut oil and microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Then do like 10 second intervals after that until completely melted. Make sure the fruit is frozen before dumping it into the chocolate mixture. We like to do banana and strawberry slices for this summer snack.

Frozen Fruit Sorbet

I found out how to make this by a happy accident. I was blending up frozen mangos in my food processor for my oldest who was around ten months at the time and ended up making a mango sorbet. That’s all you have to do. Pick whatever fruit you like, make sure it is frozen and blend it up in a food processor or blender. You can add some water if you want to add more liquid to it. If you want it sweeter, you can add honey to it. If you want to add some more flavor to it, you can also add lemon or lime juice it as well.

Frozen Banana Chocolate Popsicles with Nuts

This is such a fun summer treat for kids. You stick popsicle sticks in bananas then freeze them first. While they are freezing, make the chocolate sauce just using a bag of chocolate chips and some coconut oil. You can melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or in a pan over the stove. Then you can use nuts like walnuts or almonds, chopped. Once the bananas are frozen, go ahead and swirl the banana in the chocolate then into the nut mixture and there you have it! So yummy and so easy!

Banana Chocolate Fudge-sicle

This one is delicious and one of my personal favorites. You just blend one banana, one tablespoon of cocoa powder, and almond or oat milk. This is optional but you can add smoothie protein powder for some extra vitamins also. Put the mixture in popsicle molds and let it freeze. That’s it!
