Bath time has always been one of my favorite moments in motherhood. I’m lucky to have water babies. Both my boys love bath time so much that we have to spell the word around my oldest. Because if he hears bath then that’s all he is going to want to do. I don’t know if we just got lucky or if it has something to do with our routine. But I am going to share it anyways for those parents’ who are on the struggle bus when it comes to bath time. Putting babies to bed can be hard and stressful at times so I couldn’t imagine if bath time was a real struggle how much more stressful it would be. Below I’ll share how to make bath time fun and simple for toddlers and some must haves for bath time that our toddlers love.

How To Make Bath Time Fun And Simple For Toddlers
We Play Music in the Background:
My husband and I have always had music playing in the background. It’s usually upbeat, fun music you can dance too. It keeps bath time fun for all of us. We usually end bath time with a dance party in the mirror. It’s important to keep it a fun time rather than a chore.
We Usually Always Make it a Bubble Bath:
If we aren’t in a hurry or running short on time, we will always make it a bubble bath. Bubbles are fun and our boys love playing with the bubbles.
We Wash Our Babies Before They Play:
We make sure to wash them before we let them play with the bath toys. It is usually easier to get them all clean before they are attached to their toys. Distracting them from their toys to wash them makes it a stressful time. So we have learned to get it out of the way first then let the boys play with their toys after. They know they get to play afterwords so it usually goes pretty smooth getting them all washed.
Be in a playful and happy mood:
Bath time is such a special time. I do my best to be as present as possible and enjoy every second of it rather than just getting through it. I know at the end of the day sometimes us parents anxiously wait for bed time especially if it has been a ROUGH day. But our babies are great at picking up our moods and if we aren’t having a good time then they won’t either.
We Let Our Babies Play Until The Water Runs Out:
We let our babies play with toys and with each other for about five minutes. Then we unplug the stopper and let the water run all the way out before taking them out to dry.
We Brush Teeth After:
We brush both of our boys teeth and then like I mentioned above we finish bath time off with a fun dance party in the mirror. It ends bath time on a fun note and makes for some really special moments too.
